The Captain WIP...

I started painting Capt. Rodriguez. I desaturated my standard crimson fist colour scheme a bit, 'cause
it was much to ...well... blue. ^^ It's a bit rough on some parts, but I intend to do a lot of weathering on this one, so I think the blendings are not too important right now. Just need to get a feel for the colours and the light...

  1. Looks good. Do do just a base color and then highlights? Or do you go back and add shading as well?

  2. cant wait to see it finished. Your models always impress me with their non-standard finish.

  3. Thx!

@Col.Hessler: I usually start with a basecoat and do wet-in-wet painting on it then. I take some of the basecolr, paint it on the mini and mix lighter colours in it while it's still wet. Same thing goes for the shadows. But you can do it wiht highlighting and shading as well, it just takes longer.

  4. Nice start, thoug he looks more like an Ultramarine for the moment... I guess the weathering will darken the whole model a bit and bring it back to a better CF scheme. Can't wait to see your next update!
